Active Learning Pedagogy
LSM's Classroom Design Department has installed a number of different room typologies across campus in order to address emerging pedagogical styles. New spaces will be uniquely purpose built; evolving instructional requirements and learner behaviours will be addressed as a greater understanding of new delivery models is developed. McLennan Physical Laboratories' Room 118 is a recent pilot initiative modeled on the Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) type, but is a streamlined and simplified version for greater economy. In this iteration students sit in groups of up to six at collaborative tables, and work together using wireless presentation technologies.
